| With the BJP performing poorly at the hustings, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi ton Sunday said there was no full stop in politics. He also hoped that the new government at the Centre will help his state accelerate the pace of development. "There is no full stop in politics," he told reporters while replying to questions on the BJP's performance. "I want to appeal to the new government (for support). Gujarat will take part in the development path more than earlier. Gujarat has played a major role in the development of the nation and it will continue to do so," Modi said. He said he will fulfil the task given by the Gujarat people. "I will do so sincerely," he added. "Gujarat will continue its journey on the path of development," Modi said at the Ahmedabad airport before leaving for Delhi this morning.
Modi indicated that he would continue to be the Chief Minister and take the state to the development path. "I also say to the UPA government to pursue the path of development," Modi said. Modi had extensively campaigned throughout India for BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani. After the dismal performance of BJP and NDA in the elections, this was Modi's first reaction to the result.
