| A gunbattle broke out between militants and security forces in Sopore town of North Kashmir, 55 kms from Srinagar, on Wednesday morning.
Acting on specific information, police assisted by army launched a combing operation at Dangerpora.
As the security forces zeroed in to the specific house in which two militants were believed to be hiding, they came under fire triggering a gunbattle, police said.
The gunbattle was still going on.
