The gloves are off in the countdown to the Bihar Assembly elections with political parties breathing fire and brimstone at each other in a no-holds barred verbal slugfest.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad's slogan 'Rabri nahin chingari' for his former chief minister wife Rabri Devi daring the present chief minister Nitish Kumar and his deputy S K Modi to contest against her from Raghopur and Sonepur Assembly constituencies, received a quick reply.
"We completely accept Lalu's statement that Rabri is not a naari, but a chingari... she has worked to burn Bihar. In the Assembly too, she used boots and kicks more than words," JD(U) spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari shot back.
Earlier, the chief minister drew inspiration from the Bollywood hit tune 'Jai Ho' to strike at his arch rival Prasad.
Parodying the song that fetched A R Rahman his Oscar, Kumar broke into song at a press conference, "Jai ho, jai ho, kayakalap ji jai ho, Railway ka chay ho, Bihar men bhay ho, maha atankraj maharaj kayakalp ji, jai ho (Hail, Mr Turnaround, let there be fear in Bihar, hail the king of terror)".
