Declining to comment on demands to remove Telecom Minister A Raja over the 2G spectrum row, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said the alliance with the DMK stands “as of now”.
Speaking to reporters on board the special aircraft bringing him home from Seoul, Singh said since Parliament was in session “it will not be proper for me to comment on a subject, which is also probably in the court”.
He said it was for the Congress high command to decide on the offer made by AIADMK chief J Jayalalithaa — she has hinted that her party will be ready to sew up a new alliance at the Centre if the DMK were to withdraw support over the issue of Raja.
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who is the Leader of the House, received the CAG report on November 8, following which he sent a copy to Rashtrapati Bhavan. The file is expected to return over the weekend or early next week. He will then place the authenticated copy on the table of the House.
