BJP leaders meet President,
BJP leaders meet President, demand Karnataka Governor’s recall
 INDIA , 24-January-2011  2:42:55 AM
The battle between Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyrurappa and Governor HR Bhardwaj is being fully fought in the national Capital. Top BJP leaders, including a 23-member delegation from Karnataka, met President Pratibha Patil on Monday and demanded that the Governor be recalled.

The BJP is unhappy that Governor Bhardwaj cleared Chief Minister Yeddyurappa's prosecution in various land scams.

"Karnataka Governor has insulted the Constitution and let his post down. He is acting like Congress agent," senior BJP leader LK Advani told mediapersons after meeting the President.

"A Governor is expected to act to act in an unbiased manner, but his conduct has been full of biases since Day 1. It was never in accordance with the Constitution," Advani added

We have submitted a memorandum to the President where we have mentioned all these things, he said.

Late on Friday evening, Bhardwaj had sanctioned the prosecution of the Chief Minister on corruption charges. (Read: Karnataka Governor's letter to Yeddyurappa)

Yeddyurappa was in Delhi on Sunday to meet with party leaders to chalk out the strategy. (Read: Yeddyurappa brings his battle to Delhi)

"I want to meet Mr Chidambaram and explain all the things... it's an insult to the people of Karnataka, to the Chief Minister, to the democratic system. This is not the first time Mr Bhardwaj is doing like this. As soon as he became the Governor of Karnataka, he started this. He may be representing Congress even today; he wants the BJP should go and Congress should come to the rule," Yeddyurappa said while speaking to reporters at the airport.
