| The recent killing of two Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu allegedly by the Sri Lankan Navy is turning into an election issue in the state.
One of the victims, Jayakumar, was an AIADMK worker and the party's chief Jayalalithaa visited his widow at a village in Nagapattinam district.
The AIADMK chief also hit out the state and Central governemt for failing to stop killings by Sri Lankan Navy.
She even asked the Prime Minister to step down if he can't do anything to protect fishermen
Jayalaithaa's attack is also seen as an attempt to woo the fishing community ahead of the assembly polls due in a few months.
Sri Lanka, however, says its Navy is not behind these killings
