| 'DMK-Cong alliance will return to power like Indian cricket team'

Union Home minister P Chidambaram said the DMK-Congress alliance would return to power just like the Indian cricket team which won the World Cup.
"It is superstitious to believe a party in power will not come back to power. The DMK-Congress alliance will win like the Indian Cricket team won the World Cup," he said at an election meeting in Madurai South tonight.
He said public should compare the achievements of the DMK government between 2006 and 2011 with that of the AIADMK between 2001-06 to know the truth.
The minister said it would be easy to implement various projects only if the government at the centre and state were allies. Numerous schemes had been implemented in Tamil Nadudue to the 'friendly approach' of the central government, he said.
