| CMO murder accused found dead: 5 jail staff suspended

| Acting tough, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has suspended five staff members of the Lucknow district jail where the main accused in the murder of two Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) was found dead under mysterious circumstances.
"Deputy CMO Yogendra Singh Sachan committed suicide inside the toilet of the district jail hospital this evening," said DK Thakur, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Lucknow.
YS Sachan was charged with plotting murder of two CMOs - one killed in October last year and the other in April.
Sachan's body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the toilet of the jail hospital.
Sachan was named as the main accused by police in the murder case of Chief Medical Officer (Family Welfare) BP Singh following arrest of three people by the Special Task Force (STF) on June 17.
Singh was shot dead by unidentified persons on the morning of April 2 when he had gone out for a walk.
The STF had on June 17 arrested three persons - Ram Krishna Verma, Anand Tewari and Vinod Sharma - who had confessed to the crime and named Sachan as the main conspirator
