| Allahabad HC seeks reply on CBI probe plea

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday sought a reply from the Uttar Pradesh Government on a writ petition seeking a CBI probe into alleged rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl inside the premises of a police station in Lakhimpur district.
While passing the order, the division bench of justices Rajiv Sharma and S C Chaurasia directed the state government to submit its reply within a week's time.
The order was passed on a writ petition filed the parents of the girl along with two others on July 8 seeking a direction for the CBI inquiry into Nighasan case.
The petiton also sought a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the family of the deceased besides a direction to the Superintendent of Police, Kheri to provide security to the parents of the deceased
