| Anna Hazare, 74 has been down with a viral fever for the past three days and doctors will evaluate in a while from now whether he can travel by road today from his village Ralegan Siddhi to Mumbai, where he will begin a three-day hungerstrike tomorrow for a strong Lokpal Bill at 11 a.m., exactly the same time that the Lok Sabha reconvenes to debate and vote on the anti-corruption Bill in an extended Winter Session.
Anna has been running a 101 degree F temperature today and has had shivers from the viral infection, but doctors say they expect him to be better later in the day. In Mumbai tomorrow, Anna plans to visit the Gandhi statue at Juhu at 9.30 am, before proceeding to the MMRDA Ground in the Bandra-Kurla complex on a motorcycle to be able to navigate the notorious Mumbai office traffic better and save on time. Team Anna is busy with preparations at the MMRDA Ground in Mumbai, for which it will pay Rs. 2.6 lakh a day and where Anna will fast with one eye on Parliament. After the Lok Sabha has voted on the bill, the Rajya Sabha will discuss and vote on it before it can become law. Team Anna member Kiran Bedi tweeted this morning, "On my way to b at MMRDA with Anna for next 3 days. Delhiites &NCR join in at Ramlila grd. Focussed demand be to set free CBI." (sic) Some members of Team Anna's core committee will meet with volunteers today to plan a parallel fast in Delhi.
The Maharashtra government has deployed 2000 police constables and 200 sub-inspectors at the venue of Anna's fourth hungerstrike of the year. There will also be six platoons of the state reserve police force, three teams of Quick Response Team and two Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads.
The ground will have six emergency exits, 16 fire extinguishers and six metal detector units, besides round-the-clock ambulance services and 12 doctors stationed.
