California professor's email reveals plot to shoot students

: A professor arrested on arson charges wrote in emails that he was thinking of getting a dozen machine guns and shooting at least 200 students at the California high school attended by his late son, according to emails obtained Wednesday.
Prosecutors say Rainer Reinscheid was upset after his son killed himself in March shortly after the boy was disciplined by officials at University High School in Irvine.
Copies of emails filed in Orange County Superior Court and obtained by The Associated Press show Reinscheid wrote he wanted to shoot administrators at the high school before killing himself.
The emails were filed by prosecutors to get Reinscheid held without bail. He is jailed on arson charges related to a series of small fires in July.
It wasn't immediately clear how far along Reinscheid was in the alleged plot.
Prosecutors have charged Reinscheid, aged 48, with five counts of arson and one count of attempted arson for lighting objects ranging from newspapers to brush to a plastic porch chair at the park where his son hanged himself in March, University High School and the home of the assistant principal.
"They appear directly related to feelings of anger that he had over the treatment of his son, which he believes led to his son's killing himself," deputy district attorney Andrew Katz said on Tuesday.
"He is accused of setting these fires and he is accused of writing graphic, detailed emails in which he laid out plans to purchase guns, murder unnamed students and named administrators, burn the school to the ground and commit acts of sexual assault and kill himself," he said
