A Mumbai Police team has reached the residence of Gurunath Meiyappan, CEO of IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings, to question him as part of its on-going investigation into the spot-fixing scandal that has hit the latest edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Sources, however, say there is no confirmation that Mr Meiyappan had links to betting.
Mr Meiyappan is the son-in-law of BCCI chief N Srinivasan.
This comes a day after actor Vindoo Dara Singh told his interrogators that he was "frequently in touch" with Mr Meiyappan, sources said. The actor also reportedly told the police that he had made a few calls to Mr Meiyappan over the past two months, they added. The police are now trying to verify the veracity of Vindoo's claims.
Vindoo was arrested on Tuesday for his alleged links with bookies accused of spot-fixing. He will be in police custody till Friday. He has been charged with cheating and forgery
