Bombmaker Abdul Karim Tunda slapped
Bombmaker Abdul Karim Tunda slapped on Delhi court premises
 INDIA , 20-August-2013  7:55:21 AM
Master bomb-maker Abdul Karim Tunda was slapped, reportedly by a Hindu activist, within the premises of a Delhi court where he was produced by the police on Tuesday.

The police said a group of rightwing activists outside the courtroom lunged at Tunda when he was brought in for his hearing. One of them slapped him despite policemen surrounding the 70-year-old terrorist.

Before the hearing, a special team of doctors put together a psychological profile of Tunda.

The police want to know through the exercise whether the master bomb-maker of terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba has been telling them the truth or is being deceptive during his interrogation since his arrest on Friday last on the India-Nepal border.

Tunda, one 20 most wanted terrorists in India, has made startling revelations about his alleged association with Pakistan's ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) and other men on India's wanted list like underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed and Lashkar boss Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi.

He has even allegedly told the police that he was trained by former ISI chef Hamid Gul, who has denied ever having met the bomb-maker.

The police say it is important to establish how credible the information is; Tunda has a career spanning over two decades in deception and terror.

Since Tunda is an old man, traditional methods of interrogation are not being used on him, police sources said

In court today, the police will seek an extension of his custody to continue interrogating him.

It will also make submissions before the court in connection with the cases in which he has been arrested. Tunda faces charges in 40 cases of bomb blasts in the 90s.

He has reportedly given the cops details about the people involved and places from where he sources and assembled explosives for these terror attacks.

In 1985 his left hand got blown-off while making a pipe bomb in Tonk and he got the name Tunda - meaning a one-handed man.
