| : Narendra Modi today accused the Congress of doing secret deals with Maoists in Chhattisgarh, while repeatedly targeting Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi as 'Madam' and 'Shehzade'.
"The Congress lacks the courage to fight Maoists. They do backdoor deals with them. But (Chief Minister) Dr. Raman Singh is fighting them," Mr Modi said at a rally in Bemetara.
Mr Modi let loose a no-holds-barred attack on the Congress leaders, repeatedly deriding the party's performance in power.
"Is there even one Congress government in the entire country that is giving 24-hour power supply including in Delhi where Madam, PM, Shehzada live?" said the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidateboasted about uninterrupted power supply in his own state, Gujarat.
Mr Modi also referred to comments made by the Gandhis at rallies, talking about central funds received by the state.
"Madam and Shehzada came here and said we gave money. I want to ask Shehzada, did the money come from his 'Mama' (uncle's) house?" Mr Modi said.
72 constituencies of Chhattisgarh will vote on November 19, in the second phase of polling. 18 Maoist-hit constituencies voted on Monday, which kicked off state polls seen as the semi-final before next year's national election.
Both Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi were rapped on the knuckles yesterday by the Election Commission for their campaign speeches in the state.
