Arvind Kejriwal shown black flags
Arvind Kejriwal shown black flags at roadshow, his party blames BJP
 INDIA , 22-March-2014  3:26:18 AM
Arvind Kejriwal is holding a roadshow in the Delhi suburb of Faridabad as he begins his two-day tour of Haryana to canvass for candidates of his Aam Aadmi Party which will make its debut in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Earlier, Mr Kejriwal was greeted by black flags waved by a group of people, claiming to be local residents, who had gathered at the point where he began his roadshow. Shouting slogans against the party, the men alleged that Mr Kejriwal had shirked responsibility by resigning as the chief minister of Delhi, which just a few months ago had voted astoundingly for his fledgling party on the promise of providing clean, corruption-free governance. The AAP chief and his ministers had resigned after being in power for just 49 days.

While one of the men in the group of protesters admitted to being a BJP worker, he claimed that the demonstration was one representing the dissatisfaction of the aam aadmi (common man), which Mr Kejriwal's party claims as its true representative.

The AAP, though, alleged that the protest was sponsored by the BJP.

"These people are from the BJP, we even recognize half of them," said Purushottam Dagar, AAP's candidate from Faridabad.

The rookie party has been conducting roadshows led by Mr Kejriwal across several major cities in the hope of replicating the success, which it tasted in the Delhi assembly polls last year, in the general elections.
