| The ruling BJP has been warned against a "disconnect" with its workers by ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Party president Amit Shah will meet with workers twice a month, it was decided at a meeting of senior BJP and RSS leaders last evening.
Sources say in the meeting, the RSS expressed its worry that disconnect between the BJP's leadership and workers can hurt the party in the Bihar elections later this year and said it must be addressed.
Amit Shah, it was decided, will meet party workers on every first and third Monday at the BJP headquarters.
The RSS also reportedly expressed its concern on the lack of progress on the plan for a Ram temple in Ayodhya, which has been a part of the BJP's poll manifestos but has not figured in its top agenda during its rise to power last year.
