| Chief Minister Endorsing Libel Is Serious: Minister Arun Jaitley On Why He Sued Arvind Kejriwal

| On the second day of his cross-examination in his defamation case against Arvind Kejriwal, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley explained why he decided to sue the Delhi Chief Minister and not the others who had targeted him.
"Mr Kejriwal has committed a serious act of libel and malicious also, by alleging that my wife and daughter are recipients, are linked to fake companies... (it is) not only false but taking public discourse to a very low level," he said.
Mr Jaitley has taken Mr Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to court for accusing him of financial mismanagement in Delhi's cricket body DDCA, which he headed for 13 years till 2013.
Mr Jethmalani, the lawyer for Mr Kejriwal in the case, pointed out that he had only repeated in his tweet what the "originator" - journalist Madhu kishwar - had alleged. He also read out tweets that Mr Kejriwal had re-tweeted.
