| The prime suspects in the Noida killings, Moninder Singh and his domestic worker Surinder Singh, in their confessions over two days have admitted to raping and killing 15 children, sources have told NDTV.
Neither of them confessed initially.
The breakthrough came on Saturday, after a day in police custody when Moninder Singh was brought in front of him and confessed, Surinder Singh broke down and confessed as well.
Moninder Singh said his only motive was sexual pleasure; Surinder said he was following orders.
Based on their confessions, police recovered skulls and limbs from the drain next to their house.
Moninder Singh and Surinder have also implicated a maid, Maya, and a sex worker Neelam who allegedly arranged girls for them. Despite persistent questioning, they have not revealed where the torsos of the victims are.
However, there are still many unanswered questions, and currently, all call records are being investigated.
Thorough probe needed
Expressing concern over the serial killings in Noida, the Chief Justice of India Designate KG Balakrishnan has said that the case must be probed thoroughly.
The NHRC has also issued notices to the chief secretary of Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the DIG of Meerut has confirmed that the police have found the trunks of at least five bodies. He is, however, unwilling to confirm a link to organ trade.
Earlier, there were speculations that the children could have been killed for their organs as the police could not recover torsos among the decomposed remains of the children
"We have been in touch with the doctors and the investigators. They say that 4-5 trunks have been found. We haven't found any evidence of organ trade as yet, but we will not rule it out just as yet."
"Whenever we get information, we will move forward with our investigations," said Shailendra Kumar, DIG, Meerut Range.
