| Just days after the Shiv Sena got a Marathi pop singer to sing their campaign song, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has come back with no less than Shankar Mahadevan.
Besides Mahadevan, some of India's best-known singers came together to sing for the MNS chief. Shaan and Kunaal Ganjawala lent their vocal talents to the MNS campaign album to get the attention of the MTV generation.
"We have two songs on this CD. One in Hindi, one in Marathi and both these songs are for our party's campaign, not to put allegations on anyone. It is about Maharashtra's future development, which way the people should progress, which road the youth should go on," said Raj Thackeray, MNS Chief.
All singers made it clear that they were here for the music and refused to strike a political chord.
Raj Thackeray surely hopes that Shankar and other singers will leave Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray breathless. "We campaign aggressively so it is fitting we should have an aggressive song," he said.
This surely is music to his supporters' ears.
