CBI teams visit Noida
CBI investigators in Noida on Friday examining the drain from where bones were found
 INDIA , 13-January-2007  3:46:13 AM
Two days after the Central Bureau of Investigation took over the probe into serial killings of little children here, five teams of the investigating agency along with a team of forensic experts visited the site on Friday looking for more clues.

The teams, comprising over 30 CBI investigators, scanned the scene of crime, surrounding areas and the drain in front of the residence of prime accused Moninder Singh Pandher from where the local police had recovered several bones this past month. The teams also visited the site where the skulls were recovered.

The CBI teams, led by Joint Director Arun Kumar, were assisted by senior Noida police officers including Senior Superintendent of Police R. K. S. Rathore. CBI Director Vijay Shankar also visited the place on Friday morning. A 16-member forensic team headed by Dr. K. P. Gandhi from the Andhra Pradesh Forensic Laboratory and including forensic experts from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences and the Central Forensic and Sciences Laboratory accompanied the CBI teams.

The CBI teams also inspected the house of the doctor, an immediate neighbour of Moninder Singh, who is suspected by the locals to have been hand in glove with the accused. The CBI teams collected dust particles from the doctor's house using a suction pump and also video-graphed the house.

They also summoned the suspended Superintendent of Police (Noida) Soumitra Yadav to record his statement as part of the probe. Yadav was suspended on charges of dereliction of duty. The investigating agency may also question the staff at nearby hospitals and nursing homes amid reports that the Noida killings were possibly linked to an illegal human organs trade, sources said.
