| Orissa HC to hear BB Mohanty's bail |
| Bitti Mohanty was convicted for the rape of a German tourist in Alwar last year.

| The Orissa High Court will on Tuesday hear the bail plea of BB Mohanty, father of Bitti Mohanty, who is absconding for over a month while on parole from a Jaipur prison.
BB Mohanty, who is a senior police officer in Orissa, had moved an anticipatory bail plea fearing arrest by the Rajasthan police.
Bitti Mohanty was convicted for the rape of a German tourist in Alwar last year.
The Rajasthan police have filed an FIR against BB Mohanty for helping Bitti escape.
Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik meanwhile told NDTV that his government would not stop the Rajasthan police from arresting the DGP-rank officer.
Bitti's case made headlines as the judgment against him came in just 10 days in April last year, which is the fastest ever in a rape case.
