| It is the last day for traders in the capital, operating out of residential areas, to file their affidavits before the SC Monitoring Committee on sealing.
Sealing could resume from February 1 if the Monitoring Committee gives the go ahead.
On September 7, 2006 the Urban Development Ministry had notified more than 2000 roads allowing for shops to function on these.
The SC had at that time only partially accepted the legality of these notifications and allowed traders who filed affidavits by January 31 to function till the Court gave a final order on these notifications.
The SC will hear the sealing matter on February 2 and is expected to give further directions regarding the notifications.
Liberal guidelines
The Centre however, said that the sealing drive in the capital will not resume from Thursday and that the Delhi Masterplan 2021 will be notified by the first week of February.
The new Masterplan developed for Delhi will change the face of the city forever.
The plan allows far more liberal guidelines for construction and commercial development.
Shops on streets across Delhi, that were forced to shut down, will have the right to reopen if they can provide parking.
Under the new Masterplan, an extra floor can be added and the landlord can rent out each floor if he provides parking of two cars.
Fifty per cent of the house can be used for an office and so can the basement.
