| The battle of the minnows in Jamaica looked set for a tense finish, with Zimbabwe 175-5 after 40 overs in pursuit of 222 against Ireland.
Vusi Sibanda made a fluent 67 and dominated a stand of 66 with Chamu Chibhabha, but trod on his stumps as two wickets fell in successive overs.
Stuart Matsikenyeri remained, quickly firing 43 with six fours and a six.
Ireland were indebted to Jeremy Bray, who carried his bat to compile 115, leading a recovery from 89-5.
