| Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan has accused Congress party for using people and dumping them later.
''I feel that Samajwadi Party leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh are the kind of leaders who stand by you, but the Congress doesn't stand by anybody. They use you and dump you,'' she told NDTV in an exclusive interview.
Asked if she was referring to an individual or the Congress party, the SP leader said, ''I don't mean any individual but the party.
Jaya said not many people in the Congress stood by them (Bachchan family) during the Bofors controversy that had broken out in the late 1980s.
''Did anybody from the party (Congress) speak up, and what is going on today,'' she added.
She was responding to a question on the defining thing that led to her joining the SP.
Jaya also said it felt strange to return to the city (Allahabad) where her husband (Amitabh Bachchan) was born and had once been a Congress MP.
