| The Centre has sought a CBI inquiry into the controversial Gujarat fake encounter case.
Sohrabuddin Sheikh was killed by the anti-terrorist squad of Gujarat in November 2005.
In its affidavit, the Centre has told the Supreme Court that the fake encounter requires a probe to be done by a Special Investigation Team of the CBI to unearth the truth in the issue.
The Gujarat government has already arrested three IPS officers in connection with the case.
Meanwhile, the matter has immediately been taken up by the Congress Party, which has demanded the resignation of the Gujarat Home Minister
