| As more worms come tumbling out of the emigration racket can, its effects are being felt in far away Greece, where President APJ Abdul Kalam is on a state visit.
President Kalam on a state visit to Greece had to hear his counterpart the tell him that steps needed to be taken to stop this scourge on humanity.
Many illegal migrants from South Asia may see Greece as a gateway to Europe, but the Greek President made it clear that joint efforts will have to be taken to get rid of this problem.
''There should be a joint effort to fight this scourge against humanity,'' said Karolos Papoulias, Greece President.
An embarrassed Indian delegation pointed out that India too was reeling under the same problem being home to over 15 million illegal migrants.
It, however, assured that corrective steps to deal will the problem would be taken soon.
There are nearly 12,000 illegal Indian migrants in Greece working as farm labourers and on the lookout to move to other European nations and the United States.
And given the turn of events back home where the names of MPs have figured in the immigration racket, President Kalam's itinerary was perhaps mistimed.
