| The Gujarat government has submitted its report on the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case in the Supreme Court on Monday.
While the report itself has been submitted in a sealed cover and its contents are not known, sources have told NDTV that
One of the accused has confessed to the fake encounter in front of a magistrate
Phone transcripts before and after the encounter confirm the involvement of the accused
Scientific tests are awaited and some more arrests are likely
The involvement of the Andhra Pradesh police is still under investigation but the investigating team is still to narrow down on a single person.
Related action
Earlier, the Modi government had admitted in court that Sohrabuddin's wife Kausar Bi was burnt and killed by the Gujarat police in November 2005.
Three IPS officers, DIG DG Vanzara, SP Rajkumar Pandian and SP Dinesh MN have been arrested in the case.
Vanzara and Pandian have been suspended.
Three other cops, NH Dabhi, Ajay Parmar and Sant Ram Sharma, have also been charged with abduction, illegal confinement and murder of Sohrabuddin, Kausar Bi and Tulsiram Prajapati.
The court's final order on whether to order a CBI probe is expected on Tuesday.
