| The Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to initiate a CBI inquiry into the killing of former BSP MLA Raju Pal.
Samajwadi Party MP Ateeq Ahmed and his brother are the main accused in the case.
State Principal Secretary (Home) K Chandramauli told reporters that a letter to this effect had been sent to the Centre.
Pal was gunned down in Dhumanganj area in Allahabad on June 25, 2005.
