| Police in Ghaziabad found 680 passports buried near a local canal on Tuesday night.
The police were told about the passports by a local hotel-owner, who spotted a few of them lying on the ground near the canal.
All the passports have the stamp of the local passport office. However, most of the inside pages are missing.
Initial suspicions point towards a flourishing fake passport racket.
