| SGPC to hold meet |

| There are two crucial meetings lined up for the day in Punjab aimed at resolving the ongoing violence in the state.
The five high priests of the Akal Takht have convened a meeting of the Sikh community at Talwandi Sabo near Bathinda.
Office bearers of the Dera Sacha Sauda are also meeting at Sirsa in Haryana to decide the next course of action.
There have been widespread protests in the state since Sunday over the public appearance of a leader of a sect Dera Sacha Sauda allegedly dressed up in the image of the 10th Sikh Guru.
No disrespect
But the man at the centre of the protests Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim says he meant no disrespect to the Sikhs.
''We just give one message. That message is that we respect all religions. We even spread the message of different religions but at the same time we tell people not to abandon the religion they belong to. We ask people not to disrespect other religions,'' said Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim, Head, Dera Sacha Sauda.
With the Dera Sacha Sauda having given considerable support to the Congress in the recent state elections the Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal has partly blamed the Congress.
''Religious sentiments should be respected. The Congress is to be partly blamed for this,'' said Parkash Singh Badal, CM, Punjab.
The VHP has said that they will support the Sikhs over the issue.
Police are out in strength throughout the state especially in the sensitive spots.
In Bathinda, scene of the most violent clashes, schools and colleges are closed for the second day.
There's no bandh in Patiala while police anticipate protests may resume later in the day.
They are hoping the two high-powered bodies lined up on either side are able to come up with a solution.
