| Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has appealed for peace and calm in Rajasthan and Haryana. He also expressed grief over loss of life.
Earlier in the day, senior BJP leader LK Advani, other senior party leaders met the Prime Minister and Home Minister Shivraj Patil to discuss the ongoing Gujjar, Meena conflict in the state.
The Gujjar agitation for reservation which started five days ago has now turned into a major caste confrontation with Meenas, who are opposed to Gujjars' demand for a Schedule Tribe status.
The two communities clashed on Friday leaving five people dead.
Last effort
In a last ditch effort to end the caste clashes in the state, the Gujjar leaders will meet Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje later in the day.
They also said today's talks will be the final round of negotiations with the BJP government over the community's demand for ST status.
The third round of talks between the community leaders and Rajasthan ministers was inconclusive on Friday.
The intensifying clashes between the Gujjars and the Meenas in Rajasthan have so far left 25 people dead.
The Gujjars have been agitating to be included in the list of Scheduled Tribes in the state while the Meenas have been opposing the Gujjar's inclusion.
