The BCCI on Tuesday recalled Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly into the one-day team, while Virender Sehwag was dropped for India's upcoming tour
 INDIA , 12-June-2007  10:8:23 AM
The BCCI on Tuesday recalled Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly into the one-day team, while Virender Sehwag was dropped for India's upcoming tour of Ireland and England.

The Board - after the working committee meeting in New Delhi - announced a 15-member squad for the ODI series vs South Africa in Ireland starting later this month and appointed Mahendra Singh Dhoni as vice captain for the series.

Tendulkar was appointed as vice captain of the Test team for the tour of England.

Apart from Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan and Munaf Patel were also left out of the Indian ODI and Test team.

Bowlers Ranadeb Bose and Ishant Sharma were included in the 16-member Indian Test team for the England tour.

The BCCI also appointed former Indian Test skipper and chairman of selectors Chandu Borde as manager and the contracts of fielding coach Robin Singh and bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad were extended by a year.

"Contracts of Robin Singh and Prasad have been extended by one year. Chandu Borde has been appointed manager for the England tour," said N Srinivasan, BCCI treasurer.

The Board also extended the player's gradation till October 2007.

"We will continue with the existing players contract and then sit with the players to decide about it in the next season," Srinivasan added.

The news will come as great relief for the players who will now face no cap on the number of endorsements they do.

Meanwhile, the Board has also finalised the dates and venues for India's home series vs Australia and Pakistan later this year. The BCCI did not take any decision on Kapil Dev continuing as the NCA Director, but denied recoginition to Zee's proposed Indian Cricket League.

The matches against Australia will be played in Bangalore, Cochin, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Baroda, Rajkot and Mumbai, while the ODIs against Pakistan will be held in Faridabad, Mohali, Kanpur, Gwalior and Jaipur.
