| In a setback for the investigation into the Gujarat fake encounter case, a court in Ahmedabad has rejected the CID's application to conduct a narco test on the main accused, Gujarat DIG DG Vanzara and others.
Counsel for Vanzara had pleaded that the police officer suffered from a heart ailment and should not be subjected to a narco test.
Vanzara and two other senior police officers are accused of killing Sohrabuddin in a fake encounter in November 2005.
The case hit headlines in May this year. The investigation was handed over to senior Gujarat IPS officer Geetha Johri after a prolonged legal tussle, which went right up to the Supreme Court.
