| As the monsoons make an entry in Goa, foreigners drawn to the sun and beach have no desire to live through the rains.
But leaving their homes behind in Goa can be tough.
''If I want rain I can live in England in the winter. I have the best of both worlds. I have the sunshine of Goa for eight months and the sunshine of UK, so life is a beach,'' said Gilly, British Expat.
Locking up homes came with its own set of worries, until now with help at hand from another Gilly, also British, who stays on during the monsoons and takes care of the homes of those who move out.
Gilly and her husband Clive are now famous as the Monsoon Minders.
''By accident we started this small business, simply because we were here all the time. We were watching our friends apartments. Gilly came up with the marvelous name 'monsoon minders','' said Clive.
But the monsoon joy ride comes to a halt when the rain water comes in. It can be a tough job and all the more if it is not your own house that you need to clean.
