| One of the men who had hoped to be President and was eliminated because of opposition from the Left parties was Dr Karan Singh.
Karan Singh had on Thursday met DMK leader Karunanidhi and said he was available for the post.
Later talking to NDTV he said he still believed he was the best man for the post within his party.
He also said the Left had vetoed his name because it was allergic to religion.
