| A unique service on offer, but for a price!
Mandeep Singh, 31, is a busy man these days. With schools in the Capital set to reopen in the first week of July, he has little time left to finish 'homework'.
He's not a student but is working overtime to make life easier for those who are.
He specialises in models, projects and charts for prices ranging between Rs 200-4,000 and on a busy day, he completes upto 100 models.
''We are trying to help parents, not children. We check the guidelines given by the school and then make the project accordingly,'' says Mandeep Singh, Batra's Project Guidance Services.
Kunal Batra, a class VII student at Amity International, has availed this facility.
''I found it difficult to understand the topic, which was making a newsletter. My cousin told me about the place, so I came here and got it done,'' he says.
'Too much work'
Parents too don't seem to mind and feel the trend has made life a lot easier for them.
''It's wrong, but then we have to do it when there is too much work. Sometimes we cannot manage to do it on our own, so we have to resort to this,'' says Sheetal Jain, Parent.
''If we can pay money for it, then why not? You can't go anywhere on a vacation, you're constantly worried about it. In any case, parents end up doing the whole thing,'' added another parent.
But teachers are not amused, though they agree that students do resort to such means.
''It's a teacher's eye. We can tell if a project has been done professionally or by the child himself. If the child is caught, we cut marks and in some cases, give them grace period to make another project,'' says Sonia Narang, Teacher, DPS.
Holiday homework has become a huge burden for school going children. But with workshops like this one providing help at hand, children and their parents are relieved to find an easy way out.
