| About two dozen protesters were injured when police lathicharged a procession of gurujis (non-formal teachers) marching towards Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s residence here on Tuesday demanding regularisation of service and salary on a par with State shikshakarmis.
Many of those wounded were rushed to hospital. Thousands of gurujis linked with the Rajya Shiksha Mission, who had come here from all parts of Madhya Pradesh, began a protest dharna (sit-in-strike) at the busy Roshanpura square in the New Market area after the police action.
