| Indian Air Force's long pending quest for acquisition of 126 Multi Role Combat Aircraft has been labelled the mother of all defence deals. Now finally the decks have been cleared.
The Defence Acquisition Council, chaired by the Defence Minister, is likely to clear the request for proposal or RFP on Friday.
It will be issued to six contenders in the race to bag the deal valued at nearly $7 billion.
Six aircraft are likely to compete for the mega order, including the F-16 Falcon, the F/A18 Super Hornet, the Mig 35, the Swedish JAS-39, the French Rafale and the Euro Fighter Typhoon.
