| Floodwaters in most of the affected areas of Gujarat and Maharashtra have receded but heavy rainfall has been predicted across these states.
The state government has asked both the army and navy to remain on standby.
Floods killed 52 people in Maharashtra and submerged nearly 350 villages in the Amravati district.
The worst affected areas are Anjangaon, Dariyapur, Achalpur and Batkuli where at least 19 people were swept away by water released from dams.
In Gujarat, 84 people were killed and 43,000 others evacuated to safer areas.
A rain alert has been declared in North Gujarat. The situation however, in the most seriously affected areas of South Gujarat has improved with the Purna river flowing below the danger mark.
It continues to rain heavily in Vadodara, Saurashtra, Junagadh, Jamnagar and Rajkot.
Meanwhile, heavy rain on Tuesday completely disrupted life in Kolkata and neighbouring areas of West Bengal.
