| The Bangalore Police Commissioner has said there is no confirmation yet on whether the bomber in failed terror airport attack in Glasgow was Kafeel Ahmed or not.
''The family has not told the police that their son was the bomber, so we cannot confirm this report as yet,'' said N Achyut Rao, Bangalore Police Commissioner.
Though reports in newspapers suggest that Kafeel's father has claimed that his son is indeed the man who suffered 90 per cent burns at the failed attack.
First man charged
Bilal Abdullah, one of the men arrested after the failed terror attack at Glasgow Airport, has been charged with conspiracy to cause explosions.
He is the first suspect to be charged in the UK terror plot and will appear before a court in Westminster later on Saturday.
The 27-year-old Iraqi doctor has been charged under the 1883 Explosive Substances Act.
The charge, which covers a period from January 1 to July 1 this year alleges that he ''unlawfully and maliciously conspired with others to cause explosions of a nature likely to endanger life or cause serious injury to property in the United Kingdom''.
It carries a maximum sentence of life.
Bilal Abdullah was in the burning jeep with Kafeel Ahmed, the suspect from Bangalore, who suffered 90 per cent burns in the failed attack.
Bilal however was doused with CS gas and was relatively unharmed himself in the attack.
Investigators believe it was Bilal who parked the explosives-laden cars in London a day earlier on June 29.
Second anniversary
The terror level in Britain has been lowered a notch from severe to critical.
However, police are on high alert for the second anniversary of the bombings on London's transport network, as also the Tour De France and the finals of the Wimbeldon championship.
There are apparent links between Bilal Abdullah and the other suspects especially the Indian doctors Sabeel Ahmed and Mohammad Haneef.
