| Ex-Indian prime minister cremated |
| Former Indian Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar, who died of cancer on Sunday, has been cremated in Delhi.

| He was prime minister in a caretaker government for seven months, before resigning in March 1991.
He was a member of the Congress party for more than 15 years, but left to form the Janata Party in 1977.
Mr Shekhar became prime minister, running the government with a bare majority, when Congress decided to support him to avoid a snap election.
Congress eventually withdrew support over allegations that his government was spying on Congress party leader Rajiv Gandhi.
Mr Shekhar is survived by two sons.
