| A 10-year-old girl is in a Mumbai hospital with severe injuries after she was dragged on the road by a car full of young boys.
The victim has suffered as many as four fractures and has severe burn injuries on her legs.
Admitted to a hospital in Chembur, the girl has already undergone two surgeries and requires one more plastic surgery.
Her condition is reported to be stable.
The boys, reportedly, were eve-teasing the girl's older sister and friend.
The girls were walking home after tuition in Chembur on July 14 when they were followed by a group of 20-year-olds, making obscene gestures at the girls.
While the other two girls crossed the road, the car swerved close to the ten-year-old.
Her skirt got entangled in the rear wheel and she was dragged along by the car for a distance before the car reversed, freeing the girl.
By the time the girls' parents reached the spot, the boys had fled the scene.
The police however later arrested the driver of the car, who is now out on bail.
A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against him. The boy is believed to not even have a licence.
