| The District Administration of Ernakulum has declared Monday a holiday for government offices and schools within the Cochin Corporation limit.
The move is aimed at removing the garbage so that the city can be cleaned and be free of garbage.
Cochin has been facing problems because of dumping of garbage and now the corporation has decided to remove garbage to a nearby dumping ground.
Also nearby two panchayats have declared holiday on Tuesday.
The army is not taking part in the clean up. It's only district administration, police, motor vehicles department, Kochi Corporation and at the local level some resident associations
