| Delhi spent its day fighting the fury of the monsoon. Water levels rose through the day as the city struggled to stay afloat.
In Dwarka, where part of an underpass-collapsed traffic stayed where it was for hours at a stretch.
Also badly hit were Dhaula Kuan in south Delhi and Model Town in north Delhi.
By the time Delhi woke up this morning most of it was already knee-deep in water.
Rush hour was made worse by traffic jams at 24 major intersections and severe water logging at 150 different locations.
The Mayor on the other hand insisted that things were under control.
''I have been out since four in the morning and go out in one hour and you'll see,'' said Aarti Mehra, Delhi Mayor
As the water logging spread the city worried for its safety.
''The pedestrian overhead bridge is so rickety it's not being used anyway but with continuous rainfall it may fall on the traffic below,'' said Dharmendra Gupta, Head, Central Pollution control board monitoring station at ITO.
At least 13 trains trying to enter Delhi were stuck for more than two hours at Akshardham.
And through the rain, Delhi's bluelines struck again. A bus ran over a man who died on the spot
