| In a violent twist to the misery of floods in north Bihar, one person died and three others were injured, including the district magistrate, in clashes with the police in Madhubani town.
The trouble erupted when a group of people tried to close a railway culvert to prevent floodwaters in neighbouring Darbhanga from entering Madhubani.
The locals turned violent when policemen reached the area and tried to stop them from closing the culvert.
Police say they opened fire when the mob started pelting stones at them.
