| Congress President Sonia Gandhi is expected to visit flood-hit Bihar on Monday.
Over one crore people have so far been affected by what the UN has classified as the worst floods ever in South Asia.
The water levels in Darbhanga however, have now begun receding.
Gandhi is also expected to visit Dhemaji in Assam on Tuesday. Heavy rains have caused the Brahmaputra river to swell and burst its banks, flooding many areas.
Around eight lakh people have been affected in the state but the latest reports say the situation is improving as the flood waters are receding.
Bad weather also continues across coastal Orissa. The met dept has predicted more heavy rain across some parts of the state, especially the coast near Paradip. There has already been continuous rain overnight.
