 INDIA , 8-August-2007  3:28:50 AM
The Union Ministry of Defence has been dragged to the Bombay High Court by an army officer who was transferred in the eighth month of her pregnancy.

The Chief Justice however told 36-year-old Major Leena Gurav on Tuesday that deferment of her transfer from Mumbai to Lucknow would have to be settled as an internal matter between her and the army.

Gurav an officer-in-charge of the Legal Cell for Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat said that the Defence Ministry had issued the transfer orders despite an application requesting for deferment till March 2008 in view of her pregnancy.
