| A 45-day old baby in Chennai has become India's youngest PAN cardholder.
As soon Akshitha got her birth certificate, her parents, both central government employees, applied for a PAN Card in her name and received it just within a week.
The baby is now India's youngest PAN card holder having broken an earlier record held by 56-day-old Krishi of Mumbai.
Akshitha's parents say they want to invest money in mutual funds in her name and many companies insist on a PAN Card.
''For investment purposes we needed this. After six months we plan to invest in mutual funds,'' said C S Ranjana, Akshitha's mother.
Akshitha has Rs 900 in her savings bank account fetching an interest of 3.5 per cent per annum
