| A team of senior officials from the home ministry in New Delhi has reached Assam to take stock of the situation in the wake of a series of militant attacks on Hindi-speaking people in the state.
28 Hindi speaking people have been killed so far in the Karbi Anglong district alone this month. All these killings were targeted killings, where victims were gunned down.
As opposed to this, all-recent killings by the United Liberation in Assam have involved the use of explosive devices and grenades.
The home ministry officials will begin by meeting chief minister Tarun Gogoi later on Monday morning.
