| A senior government minister has said that next week's debate in Parliament will address every objection raised by the Marxists on the Indo-US nuclear deal.
Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal, chosen by the Congress to publically defend the 123 agreement, called the deal a historic one.
Though Congress sources say the party is preparing for an election by the middle of 2008 officially at least, Sibal says peace will be restored by next week.
The statement comes even as Congress President Sonia Gandhi personally steps in to avert an immediate crisis to the UPA government over the deal.
